Purpose
This video will provide a cultural perspective on how language can shape views of sex . It will provide an opportunity to write your learning,
share your thoughts with others, and learn from other perspectives in the class.
Directions
Watch the “Sex Needs a New Metaphor” video that is embedded above.
This video explores metaphors used in the U.S. to talk about sex and presents a new metaphor: pizza.
After watching the video, answer the following questions:
Explain the new analogy proposed by the TEDTalk speaker (Al Vernacchio)
Do you think this is a better analogy for sex? Why or why not?
