Target Behavior: Aggression
Operational Definition of Target Behavior: any instance where the child uses a part of his body to forcefully come into physical contact with another person or object resulting in observable markings on the skin, damage to the object and/or audible sounds from 3 feet away, forcefully propelling objects through the air towards other objects that are not intended for that purpose resulting in a displacement of at least 2 feet and observable damage to the object and/or an audible sound from 5 feet away, saliva exiting the mouth and making contact with another person from at least 6 inches away
Examples:
· Hitting someone with a leg or arm resulting in a bruise or temporary red marking on the skin
· Slapping someone with an open palm resulting on a red marking on the skin or audible sound from 3 feet away
· Punching someone with a closed fist resulting in a bruise or temporary red marking on the skin
· Spitting on another person from at least 6 inches away
· Kicking a door resulting in a dent or scratch on the door and/or an audible sound from 1 foot away
· Throwing objects at the ground or at a door that are not intended to be thrown from at least 1 foot away, resulting in a dent or scratch to the ground or door
Non-examples:
· Saliva exiting the mouth as a result of speaking or chewing
· Hugging
· High-fives
· Fist bumps
· Throwing a ball in a play setting
· Red markings on the skin as a result of accidentally falling on another person in a game setting
