will find an article about atmospheric science/meteorology from a peer-reviewed journal of your
choosing and write a 1-page summary. Please do not just copy and paste sentences from the abstract,
introduction, or conclusion. I want to see in your own words what you think the article was about!

• When submitting, please use file name FirstName_LastName_Essay1

• Cite the article at the bottom of your summary and leave a link if possible

Example topics include: Air pollution, climate change, tornadoes, hurricanes, flooding, fronts, cyclones,
severe storms, lightning, carbon cycle, hydrological cycle, greenhouse gases, energy budget, humidity,
fog, cloud types, precipitation, etc. If you need ideas look at chapters in the book and see what sounds
interesting to you.

1. Click on COM library icon when you log in to COM:

2. Click “GO” on Search for Articles, Books, and More

3. Scroll down to “E” and click on Earth, Atmospheric, and Aquatic Science Database

4. Search for a topic of your choosing. Be sure to select “peer-reviewed”
