One of the core principles of the juvenile justice system is confidentiality. However, there has been a trend toward more open proceedings with fewer restrictions on confidentiality for juveniles. Where do you stand on this in light of the fact that juvenile justice operates under parens patriae (“the State as super parent”) and a juvenile does not have the full protections of the U.S. Constitution?
