MGT595-2024
Read Case 6 from the textbook and use the provided dataset to answer the following questions.
All answers (including analysis outputs) should be submitted in Word. Only one team member
needs to submit the written project for the team. Each team member must create a presentation
video individually for the whole project.
Q1: Summarize the entire case in your own words. (Should not be more than 1 page)
Q2: Run a descriptive analysis on gender, others, and age. Identify any problems with coding
and take necessary corrective actions.
Q3: Compute the summated/composite scale for SQ and VAL items. (You need to input the
missing values in the dataset first.)
Q4: Write an appropriate hypothesis for RQ1, RQ2, RQ3, and RQ5. Provide a reasonable
explanation for each hypothesis. Perform an appropriate statistical test for RQ1, RQ3, and RQ5.
Explain the results in detail and make inferences based on the results.
Q5: List an additional research question that can be tested with one-way ANOVA. Write an
appropriate hypothesis for this research question. Provide a reasonable explanation for this
hypothesis. Test the hypothesis. Explain the results in detail and make inferences based on the
results.
Q6: List an additional research question that can be tested with a regression model. Write an
appropriate hypothesis for this research question. Provide a reasonable explanation for this
hypothesis. Test the hypothesis. Explain the results in detail and make inferences based on the
results.
Q7: Based on the results, explain whether the park should invest in navigation systems and
coupon technologies.
Knowing the Way (Download the data sets for this case from www.cengagebrain.com or request them from your instructor.) The Swamp Palace Museum is an interactive museum that teaches visitors the ways of life on the swamps of the southern United States. Visitors can visit over one hundred exhibits demonstrating the ecology of the swamp and the habits of the animals and insects that call the swamp home. Additionally, the museum includes several fast-food and full ser-vice restaurants, the opportunity for swimming, and several thrill rides. The park covers over 40 acres and includes miles and miles of pathways. The park was originally supported with one-time government funding but now it has to become self-supporting. After five years of operation, the park has not lacked for visitors but has struggled just to break even. The Swamp Palace has sought help from the Marketivity Group to help them address the long-term viability of the park. Initially, the Swamp Palace conducts exploratory research employing a participant-observer technique in which trained inter-viewers pretend to be park guests and engage in dialog with museum patrons. After employing interpretive techniques to the data gathered in these interviews, the Marketivity Group reports the exploratory results to management. A report emphasizes these key findings:
1 . Patrons who complain tend to base their complaints over defi-ciencies in quality. Happy patrons voice nothing indicating a low-quality theme.
2. Patrons also express a theme around value. Unhappy patrons believe the value offered by the park is low based in part on what is perceived as a high admission price.
